Antonio Cassano says Milan coach Stefano Pioli is ‘one of the few genuinely good people in football.’
Although he has not yet won any silverware in his career, Pioli is well-loved at all his former clubs, including Lazio and above all Fiorentina.
It was in Florence that he had to guide the squad through the tragedy of captain Davide Astori’s sudden death from an undiagnosed heart condition.
“Pioli had an extraordinary year and a half at Milan, he has done really well and is loved by everyone from Zlatan Ibrahimovic to the youth products, getting strong results,” Cassano told Bobo TV.
“I met Pioli, I can say he deserves every success. He is humble, a good coach and I hope he achieves his objectives.
“He is one of the few genuinely good people in the world of football.”
